The 13^th edition of the Mercosul Biennial, anchored in the Trauma, dream and flight tripod and finished last November, had encouraging developments, especially due to the outstanding presence of emerging artists, the strong contact with the public and the resumption of powerful spaces and traditional attractions of the event, such as the Cais do Porto. However, there were problems in the organization of the exhibition, the most serious episode of which was the '(dis)invitation' of names to exhibit works, and a certain frustration with pieces that would have a technological appeal.

Pinta Miami concludes the 2022 cultural agenda with more than 14,000 visitors, 48 institutions and 28 cities present. The fair at The Hangar, Coconut Grove led to good sales and a record number of awards. Pinta closes the year with extensive ground covered and is preparing to continue growing on both sides of the Atlantic.

Pinta Miami inaugurates today, and within the concepts of change and processes, the Special Projects section presents works by Carlos Medina, Richard Garet, Muu Blanco and Julia Zurilla.

Curated by Florencia Portocarrero, NEXT is a new section at Pinta Miami 2022 that functions as an innovative and inclusive platform that allows the fair's audience to discover the latest and emerging art from Latin America. The curatorial structure is based on dialogue and collaboration between galleries. As a result, in five booths, NEXT brings together ten galleries and twelve artists.

PINTA MIAMI IS COMING TO THE GROVE

Pinta Miami celebrates its sixteenth iteration in The Hangar, the new venue in the artistic community of Coconut Grove. The Fair presents Latin American and Spanish modern and contemporary art at geographical crossroads. During Miami Art Week, new visitors will connect with larger national and global art enthusiasts and collectors in this landmark building of singular distinction.

The EFG Latin America Art Award –in collaboration with ArtNexus– presented the Ch.ACO 2022 selected artist, Rafael Villares, as one of the finalists for the company’s annual acquisition award. The winner will be announced at Pinta Miami this week.

Pinta comes to The Grove! 48 art institutions - 28 cities - 17 countries

The exhibition will feature works donated to the museum by the Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros, as well as news acquisitions, loans and commissions from the late 1980s to the present.

The Museo de Arte de Zapopan presents selected works from the Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation (CIFO) to explore -and question- the ways contemporary Latin American art and its main exponents are conceived.

In the past first week of August, from 1 to 7, the first edition of Pinta Sud ASU was held in the city of Asunción, Paraguay. This is a special program dedicated to promoting and giving visibility to Paraguayan contemporary art on the local and international scene, and which seeks to generate environments of cooperation and exchange between various public and private sectors of the Paraguayan cultural scene.

Fundación MAPFRE presents Paolo Gasparini: Field of images, from July 1 to August 28. This exhibition brings together more than 300 works that present a complete journey through the artist's career, focusing both on his photographs and on his other main form of expression, the photobook, a crucial narrative device for defining the history of photography in South America. The exhibition brings together some of the artist's most important projects created over more than six decades of a photographic career that as a whole offers a tour of various cities in the process of transformation: Caracas, Havana, São Paulo and Mexico City. , in addition to its resonances from Munich, Paris and London.
